We are a community based voluntary sector agency which means that volunteers are essential to us. Volunteers help by providing support to our clients, by governing the agency as a trustee, and by linking us with the community.

We welcome applications to volunteer, from women over the age of 18, and are keen to recruit volunteers from different cultural backgrounds and with different language capabilities.

Training will be delivered to all new volunteers dependent on the role applied for and the courses vary in length; typically a volunteer looking to provide 1-1 support for a Service User, would be between 4-6 weeks, one day per week. Opportunities exist in the following roles:

  • Support and helpline

  • Fundraising and events

  • Community Outreach / Champions

  • Admin

If you would like to volunteer at Coventry Haven, please download the application form and return it to us, fully completed, by email to tstewart@coventryhaven.co.uk or by post to: Tessa Stewart, Volunteer Co-ordinator, Coventry Haven Women’s Aid, 30 Hen Lane, Coventry CV6 4LB. We will then contact you to arrange a short and informal interview, and if successful, you will be invited to a training course.

If after training, you are considered suitable for the role, you will be offered a placement, with days and hours to suit you.

Some people prefer to get involved in fundraising and event organisation of their own eg: fun runs, half marathons, sky-diving, quizzes, tuck shop or cake bake etc – if this is your area of interest, you might like to become a Friend of Coventry Haven.
