Women and Girls Fund Award - Heart of England Foundation

Coventry Haven Women’s Aid awarded grant from Women and Girls Fund to empower women and girls across Coventry

Coventry Haven Women’s Aid is delighted to announce that it has received funding from the Women and Girls Fund, delivered by the Heart of England Community Foundation.

The donation will support our specialist empowerment and safety programme for women and girls subjected to, or at risk of, domestic abuse; helping them build confidence, independence, and long-term stability. The project will provide tailored emotional support, safety planning, wellbeing activities, and early-intervention work to prevent harm and strengthen resilience.

The Foundation raised £50,000 for the fund and matched it with £50,000 of its own to create this dedicated pot of funding, designed to support projects that uplift, empower, and create opportunities for women and girls across the West Midlands and Warwickshire. Ten organisations received grants to help tackle inequality and strengthen local communities.

Jaime Richards, Development & Funding Officer at Coventry Haven Women’s Aid, said:

“We’re incredibly grateful for this support. Every day, women and girls come to us feeling frightened, isolated or unsure of their next steps. This funding means we can reach even more survivors with the safety, guidance and empowerment they deserve. It will help us offer hope, practical support, and space to rebuild, free from abuse.”

Tina Costello OBE, CEO of the Heart of England Community Foundation, said:

“The Women and Girls Fund is about backing the brilliant local organisations that are already creating change for women and girls in their communities.”

“We’re proud to support projects that offer safety, confidence and opportunity for women across our region.”
